The creation of accurate floor plans is a critical part in the conceptualization, design and renovations of buildings and structures.  Utilizing 3D Laser Scanning data, Haag 3D Solutions can create accurate floor plans for residences, office buildings, industrial facilities and other structures, without the need for repeated site visits and with minimal impact to existing uses and tenants.  Floor plan data information can be determined to calculate building square footage in accordance with BOMA, REBNY and GWCAR requirements.

Forensic Documentation

When catastrophe strikes, rescue workers, city officials, police officers, OSHA representatives, onlookers, and others throng to its location, knowingly and unknowingly altering the exact conditions of the site. The conditions of a site are key evidence for attorneys, forensic engineers, and insurance company representatives. Floor Flatness Analysis and Validation

During the construction and renovation phases of buildings the floor flatness and levelness are often specified by the design team in order to meet specific building code and construction requirements. 3D Laser Scanning allows H3DS staff to quickly and accurately document the surface area of a floor, being able to create surface models to provide and analyze floor flatness and levelness in a variety of different requirements. H3DS staff has provided floor flatness analysis and validations (including testing in accordance with ASTM E1155) on multiple projects and is familiar with testing procedures and reporting requirements.

Subsurface Vault/Mine Documentation

Often the documentation of subsurface vaults requires numerous personnel, vehicles and equipment, and when located in a roadway requires extensive traffic control.  After confined space entry testing and procedures are implemented, trained personnel then enter the vaults and perform the documentation.  Utilizing 3D Laser Scanning can reduce or remove the need to physically enter deep vaults, eliminating confined space entry, and limiting risks involved.  With reduced setup, mobilization and demobilization times, numerous documentations can occur in one day and the impacts to adjacent traffic operations are also limited.

Deformation Analysis

Deformation of structures can occur over an extended period of time or more rapidly, given applied loads or vibrations. Haag 3D Solutions has the experience and ability to document and summarize deformations and movements of structures utilizing high-quality tools to complete the tasks accurately and precisely. Utilizing 3D Laser Scanning, we can complete measurements of objects, shapes, surfaces and volume of the deformations.

When the documentation is completed, the data will be presented in your desired format, whether it is a chart, a diagram, hypsometry or other. When necessary we can also provide constant 24-hour monitoring, utilizing a variety of high-accuracy tools and methods to produce high precision results and measurements.

Museum Artifacts

Museum artifacts are stored in climate and security controlled environments and are rarely if ever subjected to significant deterioration, damage or disturbance.  When restorations are required, castings need to be made, or pieces need to be digitally documented for interactive presentation, scaled models or full scale recreations, 3D Laser Scanning is an accurate and cost-effective alternative to other means.  With extensive experience scanning museum artifacts, H3DS staff is capable of creating accurate 3D representations utilizing non-contact methods, in controlled environments.  All museum artifact projects are led by Christopher Zmijewski, H3DS’s Vice President, who has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and is a published artist himself.  H3DS staff understands the importance of coordination of access and respect for surrounding artifacts, having completed multiple assignments related to the documentation of artwork and artifacts.

Industrial Facilities

Documentation for maintenance, life and safety processes, renovation or upgrade of industrial facilities can be a costly and time consuming process if not completed properly.  Utilizing 3D Laser Scanning, H3DS can quickly enter a facility and provide accurate 3-Dimensional documentation of the facility to be used immediately or supplemented in the future.  Using 3D laser scanning we create accurate 3D models which reflect the spatial relationships between elements of the object, without having technological process interruption while security of the measurement is maintained.  With extensive industrial experience in power plants, facilities, utility masts and other industrial units, we are ready to work on your challenging assignments.

Volume Calculations

3D Laser Scanning can provide a number of advantages when a project requires the calculations of volumes of materials, stockpiles, mines and a myriad of other similar applications.  Non-contact measurement allows 3DLS instruments to be located a safe distance away from any materials, piles or cuts.  By utilizing existing site data or previous surveys and scan data, H3DS staff can make determination regarding the volumetric specifications for a site.

Laser scanning is particularly effective for providing fast and extremely accurate scans of large piles and deep excavations whose height or depth may be hazardous to a crew utilizing conventional survey techniques.

The extremely detailed information gained through laser scanning can be supplied to clients directly, integrated with previous or concurrent conventional survey data, delivered as volumes and contour plots and used to create ground models, 3D models and other useful final drawings.
